OUR APPROACH TO FOOD INSECURITY
Hunger does not discriminate. In Arizona, 751,690 people are facing hunger, and of them almost one-third are children. It is a well-known fact that there is a connection between hunger, poverty, and education. Hunger affects learning curbing a child’s physical development, inhibiting their ability to focus and perform in the classroom.
It is a fact that children fall through the cracks of our education system due to poor academic performance. It is hard to focus on learning on a empty stomach.
The need for long-term commitments to confronting food insecurity is great.
Our approach to food insecurity is a collaborative effort between our Bright Star Community Food Pantry and local partners organization include: contactless drive-thru food distribution from community centers, ePantry online delivery service for seniors & homebound, and coordinating redistribution services with other local food pantries and distribution outlets.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your support to continue this vital work. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against food insecurity and child hunger.
