WE ARE

A Crossroad To Empower Communities

A Turning Point

We are a voice for community wellness, serving underserved communities & marginalized individuals.  We strive to meet the needs of youth aging out of foster care, families, and neighbors struggling with food insecurity.

FOR YOUTH

HOW WE HELP

  • Our Mission

To provide resources & services that support the transition of youth & those aging out of foster care from homelessness to self-sufficiency and stable independent living.

To establish sustainable community-based programs that enrich, empower, and improve lives.

To be a resource hub for an array of comprehensive services ensuring young people have access to resources for:

    Homelessness | Substance Abuse | Physical/Mental Health | Pregnancy & Childbearing

If you or someone you know are in need of support or help. We are here for you.

  • What makes us different?

We are community-based, built on a Gospel Foundation, a turning point for youth, with the continuing purpose of confronting hunger and promoting community wellness.

Our approach to youth homelessness begins and ends with a belief in young people, providing programs and opportunities which enrich, empower and improve lives under our four pillars of service:

Positive Youth Development | Health & Wellness | Education & Vocational Development | Community Capacity Building

We believe everyone has value, and that all our youth need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them.

  • How We Do It

Our approach to promoting community wellness begins and ends with community partnerships. Working with local partners Crossroads has confronted food insecurity on several levels providing: community-based food & clothing distributions, food recovery and redistribution to local community partners.

Our Moving Beyond Hunger Project partners with local agencies, grassroot organizations and others to move beyond hunger by providing provide an array of comprehensive services & programs to support our youth and empower our communities. Bright Star Community Food Pantry, a Crossroads project, strives to provide innovative programs which alleviate food insecurity, empower families, and build stronger communities through the following programs:

Bright Star Community Food Pantry | Redistribution Partnerships | ePantry Online Food Distribution System | Free weekend & summer camps | After school programs

We believe today’s youth are our future, the seeds for community wellness.

We also believe community partnership is a bridge to community wellness and a stronger community.
